A little cookie with a big message can be found at the Immaculate Baking company located in Flat Rock, North Carolina. We discovered this self-described "cookie with a cause" during a shopping trip to Costco on Saturday here in south Austin.

The founder Scott Blackwell began a small, wholesale bakery in his garage with a couple thousand dollars, some used ovens, and one simple goal in mind: to create top-quality baked goods with fun and unique combinations and have a lot of fun doing it. Seven years later, the once small garage business has evolved into Immaculate Baking Company, a nationally award-winning bakery with a lineup of eleven, delicious, all-natural cookies and a serious mission to continue growing and giving back while maintaining the original passion and philosophy of the old days: bake well, work hard, be creative, have fun, and give back.

Here's how they do it:

Bake Well

By baking well, we mean that we start with simple, straightforward recipes and use only the finest ingredients that you don't need a dictionary to understand.

Work Hard

At Immaculate, we aren't afraid to work hard. In fact, all of our cookies are still baked by hand in small batches to ensure the same contagious, handmade taste.

Be Creative

This is obviously where we have the most fun, and creativity touches everything we do from our relationship with folk art to our imaginative recipes.

Have Fun

Not only are we serious about business, we're also serious about having fun while doing it. We strive to make our employees and customers happy with the experience they get at Immaculate.

Give Back

From our profit sharing programs to our community outreach activities to our Folk Artist's Foundation, we believe strongly that as our company grows, we must constantly find new ways to give back.

I highly recommended checking out Immaculate Baking, trying their cookies and tasting how much more you enjoy it with those special ingredients!
